Benchmark Presentations

On the first day of training, participants will present a 10-minute presentation on a job-related topic as a benchmark for future presentations.

Capstone – Skill Assessment

Using a lesson plan, instructional teams work together to present a 20-minute lesson. During the lesson, the instructors must incorporate all of the skills acquired throughout the week in the lesson to include: a properly written learning objective and evaluation, 2 types of instructional methods and media, questioning techniques, manage learner interactions and ensure all learners accomplish the objective within the 20 minutes allotted.

Throughout the course, participants are encouraged to interact with the instructors, their fellow learners, and the course materials. Participants have numerous opportunities to practice skills and receive feedback from their peers, as well as from the instructors.

Who is this course for? This course is aimed at subject matter experts (SMEs) interested in becoming an instructor for NTTP and/or TIPS training courses.

Who can enroll into ITC? All State, Tribal, and OSMRE employees who support and enforce surface mining and AML laws under the SMCRA Act. Individuals should be a subject matter expert and must be nominated/recommended by their supervisor.

How do I enroll into ITC? To enroll into this course, please have your supervisor email a recommendation to the Course Manager, Troy Copeland, at tcopeland@osmre.gov.

The email should include following:

• Supervisor's name, phone number, and email address
• Employee’s name, phone number, and email address
• Agency and job title
• Employee’s BIO (please use this template)
• Name of NTTP/TIPS course(s) you are recommending the employee to instruct
• Supervisor must provide approval for the recommended employee to attend the course

Can I take this course for free? Yes, there is no fee for this course. All expenses are paid by NTTP for nominated-approved enrollees.

Can I get a course certificate? Yes, upon completion course, a certificate of completion will be provided.
